Since the very beginning, Berthelet has fostered links with chefs from every kind of establishment. Obviously, there's nothing as good as a demi-glace prepared from scratch, but it's rare to have the luxury to cook eggs for hours. At the end of the 90s, a legendary québécois brand associated with desert cakes decided to stop production of the sauce mixes they had been making for local restaurants and diners for decades. Faced with this situation, we decided to step in and buy the brand and the recipes in order to keep the flow of delicious sauce running in the region. Always true to the original recipes, always delicious and always unique, they are now known under the Étiquette Blanche brand in homage to their simple and understated heritage. A true Quebec classic. Just like Berthelet.

To spend all day in the kitchen, you have to love food. Fortunately, for our executive chef, Yves Moscato, it’s a real passion.

But not the only one. Because above all, Yves loves to share his knowledge and his love for the preparation of great dishes with his clients. He was on a roll in the restaurant industry before joining the Produits Alimentaires Berthelet team, where he brings his savoir-faire and his delight in communicating to our clients. He especially likes to create and reinvent recipes which he would be pleased to share with you in a video. He also invites you to send him culinary challenges that will stimulate his creativity.

$2,500 WORTH OF PRIZES WERE AWARDED TO THE WINNERS OF THE NAPPE BLANCHE CULINARY CHALLENGE

Produits Alimentaires Berthelet Inc. was delighted to present the finals of the Nappe Blanche Culinary Challenge on March 23, 2015.

The competition was aimed at culinary schools in Quebec. To qualify, participants vied to create the best sauce prepared using our Nappe Blanche demi-glace sauce mix, and serve it appetisingly with a meat of their choice. Three teams made it to the finals from several participating schools throughout the province.

The six winners shared a prize of $2,500 and each received a Santelli brand knife worth $60. The two first place winners also won the official Nappe Blanche Culinary Challenge jacket.
