Fragrant and tart all at once, classic zaatar is made from a blend of spices (thyme, oregano, marjoram, savoury) to which sesame seeds, sumac, salt and lemon are added. Now that’s a flavour home run! A breakfast staple served with toasted bread dipped in oil, it’s also served with dips, roasted eggplant and tomato, as well as any dish that requires a distinctive finishing touch.
